How much is the cheapest I can pay for an iPhone 3G without a contract?
Question by Joe Taylor: How much is the cheapest I can pay for an iPhone 3G without a contract?
I want an upgrade from my Samsung and I’m looking into the iPhone. Is getting a contract better than a one off payment because I might want my iPhone for the gadgets more than the text/calls, however of course I’d use it for that as well.
Also, I’m in England so pounds instead of dollars. Not iPhone 4 as that’s out of my price range.

The cheapest I have come across for the IPhone 3G with out a contract is £393.19 on PAYG at this link…

It could very well be worth going for contract if you use the maths as a contract around £40 per month for 18 months would work out at around £720 and for that you will get some good deals such as 600 minutes, unlimited texts, 500MB data, free dongle and pay nothing up front for the phone. Check out some deals here…

Why do I get rubbish image quality when using my T-mobile 3g to access web through my laptop?
Question by boacuts2k: Why do I get rubbish image quality when using my T-mobile 3g to access web through my laptop?
Just got a K800i phone which enables “broadband 3g connection”. The speed is about 115kbps which is technically broad band, however it’s not that fast.
More importantly, the image quality is noticeably more degraded when using this service. It’s definatley not a laptop setting.
Can someone help?

The Wifi on my iPhone 3G has stopped working?
Question by Aimée Mullin-Pugh: The Wifi on my iPhone 3G has stopped working?
The Wifi on my iPhone 3G has suddenly stopped working. It’s saying there’s no Wifi connections anywhere and won’t recognized my own. I’ve tried restoring it and nothing has worked.
Any suggestions?

How long have you had it? It might be worth contacting your network to see if they have a support team for iPhones. I would have said restoring it would help however if you have already done it then options are kind of limited. Check all settings are OK – not in airplane mode etc. Other than that I would call your network and ask them for help

How does 3G work with mobile phones and wireless data?
Question by thehumourstopshere: How does 3G work with mobile phones and wireless data?
By what means is the data transferred to and from your mobile/the internet? Is it secure? Is it dependent on your phone’s signal or for it use some other technology?

Answer by Elise
There are three main data networks available….GPRS, EDGE and 3G. There is also HSDPA which is faster than 3G. Basically, they are all location dependent and each one has improved speed.
Of course, its only compatible devices which would be able to use the networks and the speed is dependent on a number of factors such as congestion. And certain actions such as video calling require you to have 3G.

Does anyone know how much an Apple iPad 32gb 3G weighs?
Question by Quantis C: Does someone know how much an Apple iPad 32gb 3G weighs?
Hey, I would like to know the weight of an Apple iPad that’s still in the box. I know the weights vary between models so I’d like to know the weight of the 32gb 3G version. I want the total weight including all accessories and packaging. I’m planning on buying one however the seller’s charging way too much for shipping! If someone has one that they could weigh for me it would be much appreciated. Cheers.

Do you have to be in a 3G area to use mobile broadband?
Question by The Shadow: Do you have to be in a 3G area to use mobile broadband?
With the USB broadband stick that you can get in the UK from t-mobile and vodafone etc for your laptop, do you have to be in a 3G area to use the net or will just a normal signal do? I dont care about speeds, just want to know if any phone signal will get you online. What’s the performance like, someone who’s got one?
Best answer:
Answer by man290663@btinternet.com
in a word YES.
mobile broadband dongles or phones need to have a 3G signal to give you mobile broadband in the MB transfer rates.
if you are out of range of 3g some may try the 2G EDGE connection however the best you can get on that is 128kps
