In an earlier question posted by me, I found out that paying for the 3G network can only be done via a contract. How exactly can it be payed for via Pay as you Go?

You can put a pay as you go sim card in the 3G or 3GS. But I would strongly recommend against it. the iPhone uses the internet for almost all features on the phone and you will eat through your minutes like crazy.

I mostly get around 50Kbps in India. But rarely get 2.5Mbps.

Try to change the area of your computer. Any tall buildings near by can attenuate the signal considerably. By the year end Wimax will be available in India which is much faster than any existing Wifi, 3G etc.

I know you can buy really cheap 3G S from amazon and ebay. Are there any other online retailers ?
